University of Birmingham

Introduction

Founded in 1900, the University of Birmingham is a truly international university with around 9,000 international students from 150 different countries and overall 37,000 students. It is ranked in the top 100 in the world (87th QS World Ranking 2020) and consistently in the top 20 in the UK (13th in the Complete University Guide 2020). Our subjects are well-ranked in the UK, and globally, with the following subjects featuring in the top 50 in the QS World Rankings: Education, English Language, International Development, Sport, and Dentistry. The University offers a range of subjects from foundation and Bachelors to Masters and PhD programmes. There are five Colleges teaching subjects such as Marketing, Education, Finance, Law, Medicine, International Development, Computer Science and Engineering. Details of programmes can be found on the University website www.birmingham.ac.uk The 2014 Research Excellence Framework confirmed Birmingham's position amongst top research universities with 81% of research rated as ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ and we were ranked in the top five for research in a range of subjects including Chemical Engineering, History, Sport and Philosophy. Based on a beautiful green campus in the centre of England, students benefit from on university accommodation, modern teaching facilities, computer suites, a 24 hour library and sports facilities. We continue to invest in campus facilities with the library, sports centre and track, accommodation blocks and laboratory facilities all built in the last five years. The university campus is located 4 kilometres from the city centre of Birmingham and has a train station on campus so travel is easy – it takes less than 10 minutes to get to Birmingham New Street station. Birmingham International Airport is close to the city centre offering a range of options to fly in to the city from Taiwan and to travel around the UK and Europe whilst living at the University. Accommodation is provided in three student villages on campus and there is a range of private accommodation very nearby offering a wide range of options. In university halls students can choose from self-catered or Meal Plan which offers flexibility to eat meals across campus. There are also options for en-suite or shared bathroom and a wide range of prices for all budgets. Students are supported by a wide network of staff offering support for your studies, welfare and accommodation. Careers Network offers assistance for students seeking jobs during and after study, and many of our courses have practical elements such as internships, clinical or practical placements and industry-led research projects.

Birmingham Business School at the University of Birmingham has been
awarded accreditation by the AACSB (the internationally renowned
Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of
Business) confirming its place in the top elite of
global business schools.

Birmingham Business School along with just a handful of the worlds business schools - now holds the gold standard of triple-crownaccreditation from the AACSB, the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).
